Major name shame with this one. When I was in Turkey I got an email from Leifsdottir saying that I had won the StyleBubble/ Leifsdottir competition for these items:
I was really pleased as this was the only competition I have ever entered but alas this was seriously misplaced happiness. I got a bill the other day for the customs duty on these items for £40 which I obviously had to pay to receive my package which I wasn't too happy about as these were supposed to be items that I had won. I paid anyway as I thought it would be worth it for a jacket, trousers and shoes that were fairly expensive but when I opened the package today, I saw that I hadn't been sent the shoes, and the jacket had been sent to me in a size smaller than I asked for so it doesn't fit. So in the end, I paid £40 for a pair of trousers that were meant to be free and actually aren't that nice. Rather pissed.
I didn't get any email from Leifsdottir to tell me they weren't sending me the shoes or that they were sending a jacket that was smaller than I asked for which they really should have as I would not have paid the customs on them. Maybe I just have high standards but I thought this was pretty cheeky of them.
So not bothering with giveaways again.
Those sandals are so perfect for summer, love them!

This is freaking fabulous.
ReplyDeletewhat a shame. i'm sorry to hear about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's awful! The whole point of a give a way is that it is a GIVEAWAY not you know a sneaky 'oh I'll send this but you'll have to pay for it in the end' how annoying, sorry it didn't work out for you :(
ReplyDeleteLovely blog - Following you now :) hope to hear of you having better luck soon!

Such a shame as the give away looked amazing it is also not fair about the charges why did they not put gift on the parcel which is what it was. I hate custom charges that is why I never really buy anything from overseas ends up costing a fortune.
ReplyDeleteMy necklace is old and I got it from Monet and the bracelet was a 21st birthday present from my mum.
Thats really awful when it is a giveaway to treat you like that! It is bad enough when you have paid for the items but when the company are representing themselves through a giveaway you expect them to try their best to impress you as it may lead to more sales
ReplyDeleteAs they say nothing in free unfortunately!
Chin up though chic!

ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry to hear that :/ I had a bad experience with the first giveaway I ever won as well.. I was supposed to win a Wildfox tee from ChickDowntown but they ran "out of stock" for the t-shirt that was supposed to be given away for the giveaway. Stupid, I know. So they let me choose a different tee and when it was sent, it wasn't even the size I asked for. Some companies just shouldn't do giveaways at all!
ReplyDeletethat is terrible! i'm sorry that you had to deal with that. what a slimey thing to do on the company's part.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you email them to see if they will refund this for you? I had a gift sent from a comapny in Austrailia and the same happened but when i told them they refunded it immediatley.
ReplyDeletelovely sandals !
