My Next Acquisition...

I actually felt excitement at the news of the new Barbara Hulanicki collection for Topshop...I really love the story of Biba and the clothes were so cool. I wish I had been around when Biba was as I reckon it would have been an amazing place to go. Someone should make a new one...although I doubt it would ever be as good. I diverge...I bought this top from the collection. The print really appeals to me, although I think I would have preferred it in another colour. Ha look at me sounding as if someone forced me to buy it. I really wanted to buy the girl print summer dress but I've just bought the orange maxi dress from Aqua Couture so I restrained myself...

Anyway, I think I'll put it with my pale denim skirt, my pumps and lots of bangles. That's if the sun comes out again any time soon, which I very much doubt, it being Leeds and all.

Rant...

Just a quick word about the Topshop sale....Rubbish. I'm very sorry to say it but Topshop have not really gone all out with this one. I was rather disappointed to be perfectly honest as nothing I had seen pre- sale that I wanted was in the sale. The disappointment of that fateful trip to Topshop can be my excuse for going to Harvey Nics and getting sushi:)

My New Frock...

This is my rather nice new dress from Aqua Couture...except its by Gestuz:) I really love the colour although its not such a nice colour now I've worn it out. Its a bit stainy. Im not sure I can pass it off for tie- dye.
Aqua Couture is by far the best shop by far for edgy designs in simple fabrics but in really bright summery colours. I believe I will be spending a lot more of my time in there. Like today for example...they have a very long orange sheer jersey maxi dress that I tried on and unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to not buy it. Damn, what will I do with a lovely new dress?? Such bad times...I think I'm going to have to wait until it gets a bit sunnier in grey ol' Leeds to buy it though. Bright orange maxi dresses and umbrellas don't really go now do they.

Mine Now...

To follow on from my little rant, these are the shoes that I finally found in my size that weren't lime green snakeskin or another such atrocity...I figured that they will go with most of my wardrobe and, as much as I wanted to wait for the nicer ones to be restocked, I am in terrible need of some pumps now. My one and only pair that I can still wear have huge holes in the bottom. Oh dear indeed. So there we have it...my first pair of French Sole shoes:)

2 Days, 12 Hours, 38 Minutes...

Is the time left until the next Outnet.com flash sale. I must say I am intrigued as to how this will work out as I am not very quick on la laptop, and considering that, to my utter frustration, nearly everything good is sold out on the site, I'm pretty sure there are some determined ladies out there just waiting to steal lovely items from right under my nose...
But I would like a quick rant here if I may...WHY oh why do websites keep stock displayed when they do not have it?! Not only Outnet.com oh no. To my utter dismay the beautiful French Sole shoes that I posted about were sold out in my size:( As were nearly every other style I went to buy. In the end I had to settle for some also nice (but not as nice) pumps. I will conclude with this: when I cannot spend my money on beautiful shoes I am not a happy bunny I tell you.

I really like this picture from the 'State of Grace' editorial by Mario Testino and Lucinda Chambers for British Vogue May 2009 so I thought I'd share it...

I Want This...

In my search for a perfect spring outfit, I have trawled through many a website, but I think that this little number is so cute... so yes, I want this outfit:

This Vivienne Westwood blazer is great as it is clearly on trend for this season, but unlike the millions of blazers around at the moment, it also gives a nod to the scalloped edge that has cropped up this Spring. Also, its just a bit different to the usual which is really why I like it more than any other ones I have seen.

You can never go wrong with a plain tank especially this KAIN one as its drapey look is perfect for the no- fuss look this Spring, yet its silk blend makes it a bit more special than plain cotton ones.

I love this skirt....the colour is amazing, the frills are flattering and feminine, which provide a contrast to the masculine feel of the blazer, and the length is not so short to look cheap, but not so long that it looks frumpy and over the top with the frills. I would wear this with the vest tucked in and bare legs.

P.S. I am feeling a new sense of loving for gladiator sandals, which is strange as I absolutely hated them the last time round...I'll have to get on the hunt for some nice ones on the high street...maybe I'll post the best ones on here:)

I've Got My Eye On You...

Ok so although I really cannot afford the Mulberry shoes I wrote about before, I really really can afford these awesome French Sole pumps:) My slightly misguided justification is that for all the cheap and nasty pumps that I buy every season (and there are many) which fall apart after a few weeks of constant wear, I could have bought at least two or three pairs of French Sole pumps that are so much more stylish and will last loads longer. So...as I have taken a vow of no more black clothes until Autumn I think I'm going to get these purpley ones because I love them:-D

My Efforts...

In a wave of creativity I decided to be inspired by the D&G Barqoue Jewel and Bow Belt and try and create something along the lines of it...Well it started out like the D&G belt but kind of ended up a bit off the mark. But I like it anyway. Also, I couldn't find any very expensive Swarovski crystals/ cheap antique brooches to sew on to it so buttons had to do:) But anyway, here is one version of the real thing and my not- so- amazing attempt underneath...

If Someone Could Buy Me These That Would Be Great...

OMG I want these shoes sooo much. If I could choose just one ultimate bag to use forever, it would be the Mulberry Bayswater in tan...I want it and when I'm not living off student loans, I will have it:) NO question.
So now the wonderful people at Mulberry have brought out these amazing shoes that are inspired by my ultimate bag and aptly named Bayswater pumps. They come in loads of colours but I've narrowed down my choice to thses two colours...purple becasue they really stand out and I love bright shoes and they are perfect for Spring, and nude becasue they'll make legs look longer and they would go with everything I own....if I could afford them that is....*sigh* just looking at them makes me sad I can't have them, they are so damn pretty, they've even got the fob that 'my' bag has on the inside.
Maybe I should save up...
....HAHA what am I talking about, of course I won't xx

Today's Attire...

Vest: H and M, Blouse: Topshop, Cardigan: Topshop, Skirt: Dotty P's, Necklace: Primarni, Belt: Topshop, Tights: H and M
I was feeling rather springy today so I diverted from my usual macarbe colours of grey and black...
P.S. I went to Bluewater today and I saw Jodie Albert and Kian form Westlife in the Apple store...I feel a tiny bit ashamed that I recognised either of them to be quite honest. Also, for the first time ever, I didn't buy anything...I might be sick.

Mon Expérience...

I saw this picture of Lady Gaga the other day...She really does seem to have an aversion to normality, not that thats a bad thing I guess, it just seems a bit gimmicky to me. One wonders how long it'll last...Anyway, always one for trying new things with my hair, I thought I would have a go at the weird bow-in-hair-thats-made-out-of-hair on her head. I thought it went ok (see below) but it took so much hairspray to keep my not long enough hair together it ended up a trifle crispy...
