Back To Black...

I cannot believe that I have been back only four days and I'm back into black clothes...clearly the days of throwing on a flowery dress and going are long gone for now. However, the weather calls for such extreme measures...especially as I'm going to Hastings with the little cousin today and I feel a floaty dress near the windy Channel is an embarrassing moment waiting to happen...

Vest: H&M Cardi: Whistles Skirt: Miss Selfridge Tights: H&M Shoes: Office Bangle: Given by a small wristed friend :)

I actually ended up wearing this top instead of the black vest as the weather decided to perk up just before I left the house...

Home Again...

I write this with half a mind to jump back on a plane to where I just left but I am home again...and I will write something as soon as my head is out of the world of beaches and cocktails and back into clothes and shoes! Maybe it might take a day or two as I really don't want to leave my holiday thoughts behind just yet:)...

Tanning For Dummies...

I'm off on my travels on Monday(:D:D:D) so naturally to avoid any pastiness in the first couple of days I've had to tan...which I hate doing because it takes so long and then you have to walk around like a zombie whilst it dries. I'm truly crappy at this as I always forget that I can't get water on myself but always always do which results in severely watermarked skin...oh the joys of tanning.

That was until this amazing tanner came into my life:
I really cannot say just how good this is...You can literally streak it on and somehow there will be no such streaks when you wash it off in the morning which makes for extremely easy tanning which suits me fine:) Its a bit pricey at around £25 but it dries so quickly and gives the best colour I've ever had from a fake tan I think it is worth it:) And no I wasn't paid to say all this...I just love the product...

Todays Attire...

When I started this blog I fully intended to post my outfits frequently. In hindsight I'm not quite sure how I thought I was going to do that sans a camera and clearly I have been truly rubbish at doing what I set out to do...
But now I am sans camera no more so you will probably see much more of my wardrobe from now on...
Cardi: Asos T shirt: Asos Jeans: GAP Bangle: Camden Market
I'm really starting to like just wearing plain tees with things...mostly because its easy but I like how plain it looks. I love this tee I got from Asos the other day for...wait for it...£3! Its made from really soft light fabric which I think is why I don't mind wearing just a T shirt...I can't really explain but if it was made from really crappy material I don't think I'd like it so much:S
I didn't realise it was so see- through though until I took this pic haha...whoops...

Oh Dear Cotton...

I feel so deflated about this...I love Fearne Cotton's style I think she gets it right every single time and she has the best Mulberry bags of anyone so naturally I'm unbelievably jealous...but what is this?!
As I say I like Fearne so I feel slightly nasty writing this but what on earth has she done with this collection of hers?? At no point in it is there a hint of her good dress sense or her quirky style! I hate hate hate cheap fabrics and this is just the epitome of that...perhaps the dodgy cuts and shapes of the clothes could be partly saved by a quality fabric, but oh no not here:S
Why oh why do celebrities think they can turn their hand to anything just because they happen to be good at what they're famous for?? I think unfortunately in this instance Miss Cotton needs to keep dressing herself (as she does that extraordinarily well) and not try and dress other people...

This coat is £85:-O

Barbie Can Shove It...

...These bags are mine!

I got this email this morning about the launch of Paul's Boutique Barbie inspired bags in honour of Barbie's 50th anniversary and was instantly taken.
I must admit I'm not one to wear loads of bright colours in my everyday outfits and no slightly alternative attire ever graces my wardrobe (yes I am boring though I would rather call it 'classic') but my one outlet of colourfulness is bags, specifically Paul's Boutique bags so I love it when new ones come out.
I tend to buy them from places that don't seriously inflate the prices (cough...Topshop) like Asos and Clothes Show Live but I would make an exception for these one just because they are so fun! Also, the first 50 people to grab one of these will get a free T shirt so make sure if you're going, go quick!
Alas I cannot be there myself but I imagine it'll be a good one:)

Just So Happy...

As you can see from previous posts I have to rely on my phone camera to take pictures of things I want to put up on here and this is never a good thing because the pics are truly terrible.
However, I have rectified this and bought me a nice shiny new camera:D
Unfortunately it is yet to arrive and I've been trying to delay posting about my new shoes until I can do them justice with said camera but I feel it is taking a bit too long so I'm going to post about them regardless...
They're from Office and they were only £20:D That was a good day for me...
Also I must add (because I was ridiculously excited/ amused) that just before I wrote this my order from Asos arrived and my sis and I totally ripped it apart getting to all the things we bought...and then I looked at the mess we made...it made me laugh and feel a tiny bit ashamed that I didn't savour each unwrapping moment...

A Kiss With A Fist...

How cute is this dress?? Its by Heimstone and you can get it reduced at amelieboutique.com. I was looking at it and happened to be listening to a kiss with a fist by Florence + The Machine and thought it fit quite well for this dress as it looks pretty cute on its own, but if you dress it with harsher accessories as they have done on the site it takes on a whole different, tougher look...everyone loves an oxymoron now and again.
Unfortunately it only comes in a size 6 to 10 but perhaps they reckon that it'll only look cute on small people? Probably to be fair...

Don't Put Your Claws Away...

Dear god I am so behind the times sometimes but risking looking completely archaic I'm still going to post about Dominic Jones jewellery. Look at these gloves! They aren't something I would usually align myself with due to there not being any silver or pearls on them but there is just something about them that if you put them on one might turn into the sort of girl who gets herself into all kinds of debauchery and really doesn't give one about it.
The lookbook is full of slightly raunchy photos that are so in keeping with the jewellery (including nipple studs) and have done their job in that now I want to buy it all. See it at dominicjonesjewellery.com

Hairrings...

I'm not quite sure what to make of these. I quite like the way they look as they're something different and not too heavy like a lot of the quirky jewellery around at the moment. I think the biggest problem I have with them are the fact that they are real human hair...Yes, if you purchase these, you could have locks of 100% human hair hanging around your neck or dangling from your ears.
Something about that thought is a bit gross to be perfectly frank, especially as each piece comes with a comb to look after the hair. Very odd. I find it a shame because I actually really really like the collection which is by Bijules NYC but just the thought of having someones (however freely given) hair around my neck really puts me off...
On a better note, the other collections are interestingly covetable, such as the line of teeth inspired necklaces and weaponry creations...

More Of My Efforts...

I've been inspired by the Kapow Wow pieces that I keep banging on about to people and tried to make my own...It kind of worked but I got bored when I was cutting the material into strips and so its thinner than I wanted it to be. Perhaps I'll cut some more tomorrow and add a longer one onto this one...who knows:)
I feel it was a good effort. I will force myself to wear it anyhow, unlike most of my other 'creations' which end up in a drawer never to see the light of day again...

Crap...

I did it again and parted with money I shouldn't have. But look what I got with it:D
I'm actually smiling as I'm writing this because I love this top so much. Sad I know but so so true.
I took another trip up London today with my sister and as she never goes shopping up there
she wanted to go EVERYWHERE and what with all the heat and the people I can't say it was the best day...until this top came into my life. There it was just calling out to me amongst the usual onslaught of body con and denim at the bottom of the escalators (and who said merchandising never works??) so of course my weak minded self had to try it on and buy it under fire from words of encouragement on my sisters' part. I'm so glad I have a weak mind and a forceful sister...

The top is made from a chiffony kind of material (but its actually polyester) and the beads are gold and the back has a big hole in it. Again, my phone hasn't taken the best picture so here is the pic off of the Topshop website to give a better idea of what it is like...
