Put On Your Armour...
I caved ;)
I went into town looking for a dress to go out in tonight but Tunbridge Wells gave me nothing...no surprises there! When you live in Leeds for half the year, one realises just how behind the times my home for the other half of the year is in the way of retail...
Anyhow, I decided to just go and buy the French Connection dress I was banging on about in the last post to wear ce soir and add some heels and armour to make it suitable...

Dress: French Connection Shoes: Topshop Tights: H&M
I always find that no matter what you put on, heels, a flash of sparkle and a smokey eye will transform it into a going out outfit...Which is especially useful to me as someone who doesn't *love* putting on a proper going out dress...

Moss-t You Do It Again?...
Once again the new Kate Moss for Topshop collection has failed to light any fashion fires in my particular mind. Yes there are some nice pieces, but nothing too different or particularly fashion forward. Most of it feels very luxe with its dark colours and lashings of chiffony pretentiousness which is all very well in itself, but due to this seemingly uninspiring trend, most of the prices have elevated to more than I would be prepared to pay for a technically non- designer piece. It is a shame as I would happily wear a couple of the items but seriously...£60 for the obligatory boring tea dress which finds its way into every collection of hers?? £400 for a sequin maxi dress that one could really wear, erm, nowhere?? I think not...

Naughty-cal...
Oh how I love this French Connection dress! Its been nagging at me for a few weeks now that I really do need to have this in my wardrobe because it is so me it isn't even funny...I very very nearly caved just now in town but my forgetting my student card for that all important 10% off was the saviour of my hard- earned ( ahem...) pennies.
I have a half- hearted rule that I sometimes apply to my most wanted items which is that once I am sure that I want something, I wait three days and see if I want it as much after then...it is quite a good way of making sure I don't buy as many on the spot purchases as I might otherwise but this dress I have had my eye on for a good while and after trying it on twice I am so so sure that it will be mine:)

I do feel slightly bad due to the fact that I've already bought two nautical themed tops...I live in the one below as it is just so comfy and easy to wear...the second one I think is going back to the place from whence it came as I really don't think it suits my shape at all. I think the neck is too high for my particular size of bust and it makes me look ridiculously wide... As such, I will then have some kind of justification for buying the one above ;) You see how my mind works...

Hello There...
Back again!
Thank you for all your comments...you guys know your stuff haha. In the end I went for a vest, oversized shirt, jersey stretch skirt and leggings (to avoid la flash). It worked out rather well I must say!
I've been in a massive mess since I got back so normal blogging will resume when said mess is cleared :)

Travels Part Two...
I am once again off on holiday...whilst most would probably be looking forward to the sun and the beaches I find myself wondering what on earth to wear on the plane and how can I possibly fit everything I need into my case. My last flight a couple of weeks ago saw me in high waisted linen trousers which turned out to be a big uncomfortable mistake so now I'm stumped. Jeans are a no, as it'll be far too hot, and my skirts are all too short and so run the risk of flashing...
I guess that leaves dresses but then I'll have to wear one that I wanted to wear in Greece...oh how annoying... Also, my fear of losing my suitcase en route means that anything I wear will have to be suitable for a couple of days wear should the worst happen. Please god don't let it happen.
I think some consultation with the ladies I'm going with is in order...
What do other people wear?? I always fail to notice haha.

I wish I looked this good sunbathing. Unfortunately the sweating and being permanently covered in sand prevents this...

Sunny Saturday...
Had a bit of countrified day today as it was so sunny and I was on my own...
I went to a farm shop near me that I L.O.V.E. it is so damn cute in there with their uniquely shaped cucumbers and ugly mushrooms and bunting and homemade cakes...oh I could live there. Anyway...I'm getting caught up in the tweeness of it all...I only went there for some vegetables but ended up with these cupcakes. There they were, sitting there winking at me at the till and all the bright colours and glitter sucked me right in and so I bought not one, but two...the excuse is that the yellow one is for my sister but we all know its going to be mine as well;)
I bought these lovely flowers from there as well as my housemate from uni is coming to stay before our holiday and thought it would be a nice touch in my otherwise boring room:)
I dried some Buddleia in my room (well i forgot to water them...) and thought I would make a little fragrance pillow with the petals to shove in one of my clothes drawers so that on any given day I can attract butterflies to my person...

Finally Organised...
It has taken too long but finally I've edited my links so that they show the blogs I read religiously and taken away the ones that I don't or are now defunct...
If you have one that you would like me to take a look at or list just leave me a comment or email:)

Help Me Please...
I finally have some small excuse for a shopping fund and went along to pixiemarket to perhaps purchase one of these rather lovely dresses...only to find they are sold out...A groan of despair actually escaped my lips.
Being the stubborn person that I am, if I am faced with the good possibility that I cannot have something I will try and try to get it even if, in the end, I do not really want it. Childish I know but I don't think that will happen in this case as I've been admiring these dresses for quite a while.
So if anyone knows where I can get either/both of these dresses please let me know!...

The Wedges Get An Outing...
I felt like being a bit messy today as all I had to do was take the sister into town...I can't bring myself to dress up for lazy days at the moment due to not having to make an ounce of effort last week to get to beach...ah the ease of holidays.
I think I might also be 'accidentally' taking this vest away from the sister back to uni so she can't take it back haha damn I'm mean sometimes. I'm not a massive fan of white but I love this vest so naturally it must be mine:) And anyway, its not like she hasn't stolen half my wardrobe since I've been home...
I bought the wedges over a year ago and they originally had ankle straps but as sod's law dictates, the moment I wore them out of my uni flat one of the straps came off and I have been unable to fix it since...However, I decided to break the mental block of wearing them without straps and it turned out rather well...even if I did look like a freakin' giant...
For fear of explaining my whole outfit which was not what I set out to do, I would like to say that my skirt never started life like that...I bought it for a tenner in the River Island sale when I was 17 and have worn it a ridiculous amount of times since then and I love it despite it having been repaired over and over:) It looks a massive mess but I really don't care, I'm never going to stop wearing it!...
